~ My little Surfa girls' Baby doll blankets ~

~ When beginning this adventure with my children some of our goals were .....to teach them a bit more about sewing, crafting... being creative & unique, being thankful for & using their God given gifts.... & being good stewards.....among so many more lessons to be learned.

~ Each of them had at least one special thing... (some of them had many more) ....that they truly wanted to share...... This One was Emmie's !
She thought it only right.... that if we are making so many wonderful blankets, & sweet things for "real babies"..... that there was no reason why we couldn't make some for her baby dolls .... & other little girl's baby dolls, as well. After all... they get cold sometimes, too!
**** So here they are.....
Gracelyn & Emmie Roo's very own line of baby doll blankets.

~~ They have been a wonderful tool for teaching my sweet 6 yr. old to sew.
These precious little blankets are made out of an array of fabulous fat quarters.... & have sweet soft baby flannel on the flip side. I'm teaching the girls to sew the same way I do .... so all of the edges are top stitched for that beautiful finished look.

*** This is a unique item for us as we will obviously, due to the girls ages, limit the work they do to what they enjoy..... Gracelyn is however quite the little seamstress already & would love to eventually take a few orders here & there....She loves making these for her little girlfriends & is even teaching a few to make them on their own. This is a great way for her to start realizing her gifts & talents.... & bless others through them.

***As for Roo.... she worked hard to make the one she's holding in the above pic... She says it keeps her dollies very warm.

***As a mama, I have to share that it is such a treat to watch my girls sew together..... as Roo's little legs just aren't nearly long enough to hit the pedal yet .... Gracelyn always puts the pedal up on my sewing table for her sister.... while she patiently guides the fabric through for her. They have all sorts of fun little codes just to keep things fun, when Gracie wants it to go faster or slower....
.....the best by far was overheard a few weeks ago..... when Gracelyn in her sassy-est voice hollered "give it some gas Sista! " I am so blessed at the thought of all the sweet memories they are making!

** we are just beginning ~ barefoot Surf boutique....
& thank you for your patience ~
